January Reading

I read only 4 books in January. The first two were books two and three from the Children of the Promise series by Dean Hughes, Since You Went Away and Far From Home. I would have continued on in the series, since there are 2 books left (then 5 more in the Hearts of the Children series), but I needed a break from them.
I also read Julie & Julia after finally being inspired to read it because I loved the movie. I'd tried reading it before watching the movie and I couldn't get into it, it's definitely different from the movie, and Julie is nowhere near as charming as Amy Adams' character of Julie is in the movie. Oh well, it was alright.
And finally I read The Reading Group, just one I picked up at the library. It was interesting, I found myself skipping over the book discussions because they give away parts of the stories and there were a few I may want to read, and I didn't want the ending spoiled. It was pretty good, I did enjoy that it was written in very British English, not changed to accommodate American readers, like a lot of English books are. (Like I would love to be able to get my hands on all of the Harry Potter books that were released in England.)
I read a total of 1789 pages. =)
